Seo Ran

Human-Sea Dragon Hybrid

Seo Ran was the axis of Seo Hweol's Immortal Art, Tainted Soul Filling the Heavens. He was originally born out of Seo Hweol's attempt to corrupt his mother, Yu Oh, a clone of the Sacred Master of the Nether Ghost Realm. Due to her maternal feelings, Seo Ran was born.

Overview

Seo Ran's father died shortly after his birth and he never met his mother, and he was shunned within the Sea Dragon Palace. He eventually grew close to an ostracised astronomer, Jeon Hyang, who was eventually killed when he realised Seo Hweol's malicious nature.

Due to his lacking strength, he was left behind in the Head Realm during the millennial opening of the Ascension Gate.

Seo Ran was fated to die fighting Song Jin trying to recover a memoir from his deceased mother, but is saved by Seo Eun-hyun who mended their relationship. Song Jin accepts Seo Ran as a disciple after this. He was also made aware of Seo Hweol's true abhorrent nature by Seo Eun-hyun's actions.

History

Seo Ran was Song Jin's disciple until the latter's death. He is learning Ghost Path methods and adopted the uniform of Black Ghost Valley. He had ascended to the Ancient Force Realm with his master Song Jin, Buk Hyang-hwa, Shi Ho, and Kim Young-hoon in search of a way to deal with Seo Hweol.

Major Spoilers

At the end of the 998th cycle, after Seo Eun-hyun went back to the Head Realm through the Lightning Sacred Sea, it is revealed Seo Ran was Seo Hweol's main body all along.

During the 999th cycle, Hweol revealed that Ran was the result of him trying to reverse corrupt the Nether Ghost Realm's Sacred Master, Yu Oh, through a clone she sent to the Head Realm. It failed and his main body was corrupted by Yu Oh's clone's maternal love, giving birth to Seo Ran.

Seo Ran's will was broken and he was consumed by Seo Hweol in the 999th Cycle. He died proclaiming he would never be forgotten.
